Recently, the Administration Committee and Academic Council of University of Rostock, Germany passed the resolution of awarding Liu Hui, from CSU with Habilitation on automation engineering. Thus 33-year-old Liu Hui has become one of the youngest gainers of Habilitation on engineering in the history of national universities in Germany.
Currently, Liu Hui is Professor of vehicle operation engineering and Doctoral Supervisor in School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, CSU, as well as Visiting Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of automation in University of Rostock. He has been devoted to research on vehicle operation safety in severe environment, including traffic safety in strong winds and development of robot transportation equipment in ultra-precision environment. He supervised 6 postgraduates and is supervising 4 doctoral students, 2 of whom won full scholarship from Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD). In recent 5 years, as the first author and corresponding author, he has published 24 academic papers, among which 2 were world top 0.1% most-cited papers and 5 world 1% most-cited papers, 12 SCI papers and 24 EI papers, the total impact factor of SCI papers added up to 44.29 with the highest one up to 5.746 and the average 3.69, 10 were on An1 and 1 on An2 JCR SCI, and other citations by SCI got to 187 with the highest one reaching 54. As the first inventor, he authorized 2 national invention patents and published 15; he gained Outstanding Youth Fund from Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Award of Highly-cited Papers from Elsevier, Nomination of 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertations, Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations of Hunan Province, Nomination of ENI Award and so forth; he is a member of organizing committees and procedure committees for over 10 internationally prestigious conferences, and Guest Editor or Reviewer for more than 10 world authoritative SCI journals.
