2015-2024 (CELISCA's NEWS)
As part of the upcoming Colloquium on Accelerated Research in Material Sciences at the INM Saarbrücken, celisca will contribute a talk on recent advancements in the automation of material research processes.
In early January, CELISCA had the honor of welcoming Prof. Babak Beheshti, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). The purpose of his visit was to initiate a collaboration between the two institutions to enhance international exchange in research and education.
CELISCA looks forward to taking the next steps and is confident that this partnership will promote innovation and knowledge but also strengthen international collaboration.
As an eventful year comes to an end, we want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of the employees, friends and customers of celisca. Thanks to your support, dedication, and loyalty, we have been able to celebrate many successes and overcome challenges together. We wish you and your families a peaceful Christmas season, relaxing holidays, and a wonderful start to the New Year 2025!
At the end of the year, we were delighted to receive an early Christmas surprise: the approval notice for our sub-project, "Automated Sample Preparation for Material Characterization," dated December 9, 2024. This initiative is part of the collaborative project "Glass Synthesis in the Digital Age (GlasAgent)." We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. U. Fotheringham from Schott AG for coordinating this ambitious project and look forward to a productive cooperation with all involved partners.
Our paper "Indoor Positioning Systems of Mobile Robots" published in the Robotics Journal (MDPI) is among the Top 10 Cited Papers in 2023.
From November 6 to 8, the 7th Annual Iberian Robotics Conference – Robot 2024 – took place at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Ph.D. student Jiahao Huang attended the event to present our latest research on mobile robots for laboratory automation.
The conference encompassed a broad spectrum of topics, including industrial robotics, autonomous systems, educational robotics, and field robotics. Participants explored various modeling techniques, practical applications ...

On October 1, 1999, Prof. Kerstin Thurow was appointed to the world’s first chair for laboratory automation, marking a pioneering achievement at the University of Rostock. What began 25 years ago as a "Orchid subject" has since developed into a significant and influential field.
The aim of the IEEE 22nd International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY 2024) is to offer researchers an opportunity to extend the existing scientific relationships all over the world in the field of Intelligent Systems.
celisca will be part of this meeting presenting latest research results in UWB-based object tracking in lab automation.
The 2024 IEEE 20th International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE 2024) has been held on August 28 - September 1 in Puglia, Italy.
celisca was represented here with 3 talks presenting current research results to a large research community of about 1000 participants.
